Grandpa Coates reached the grand age of 79 on Saturday!
Carrot cake and ice cream were dessert after grandpa's prime rib dinner.

Two of Grandpa's sisters, Anita and Dorothy made it for the occasion. 
This may have been what Grandpa Coates looked like about 79 years ago. =) 
Saturday was a fun-filled day with Lance's birthday party which included go-carts and mini-golf and then the trunk or treat at the church followed by another birthday celebration for Grandpa Coates in the evening.

At first Vince was okay with eating the rice cereal. But then...
he decided that spitting it out would be better.
Teddy was having so much fun so Kandice tried to get him running around in the snow but, he just stopped and barked at me and Vince thought it was funny.
The only time that Vince will stay on his tummy without getting very mad is if his is on his play gym.
The cake was more for Lance than Kandice.
Lance loves the A's now he has his name on the back of one of their jersey's. He's going to be him being an A's player for Halloween.

Lance got scriptures and he was very excited.
We went and got family pictures today and Vince was so smiley today.
He looks like a big boy in this pictures. 
Mark and Justin went to Soldier Meadows north of the Black Rock Desert this year.
Justin found this carved out rock that opened up into a little cave big enough for 2 people.
Justin could stretch out and lay down comfortably inside.
There were a lot of neat geological features in this area. Justin and Mark both found geodes.
Mark was filtering some spring water to refill his water bottle when a cuvvy jumped up out of nowhere. He scrambled for his gun and managed to down this bird! Quick on his feet!
This area is a wilderness area and vehicles are not allowed so Mark and Justin camped overnight at the base of the mountain and hiked in.
Justin shot his limit (6 birds) the first day but got skunked the next day. You just never know what will happen when you go chukar hunting! 
Colleen told us about the bats (about 70,000) that live under the McCarren bridge so we went to go check it out. They come out each night at around sunset and they are amazing to watch!

Vince had a doctors appointment today. He is 14 lbs 6 oz and that is the 50th percentile. He is 27 1/4 ins and thats the 90th percentile. He's growen so much in the last 4 monts.Kandice got Vince to laugh and Justin got it on
camera without Vince knowing about it.
We are having so much fun being parents.
Brad was going to change Vince's diaper and
had Vince laughing for about a minute when
Kandice got the camera out just in time to
capture this moment.
We have been trying to get Vince's laughing
on video but he always seems to know that
the camera is rolling.
Burgandi Jade was born on October 2, 2008. She was 8 lbs. 11 oz. and 20 ins.
She is very cute.
The new family minus Lance and Shyanne.
Vincent and Burgandi are about 4 months apart. Their very cute together.
