Home at Last!!

We got to bring our little boy home today!

One happy Daddy and Mommy!

We are so happy we don't have to go to the Hospital anymore. Vince is doing great!

Tile

This tile is called Roman Noce which Lowe's carries. "Noce" is Italian for walnut. (see, Justin uses his college degree at work sometimes) :)
Mark using the wet saw.
The grout color will be neon purple. Just kidding.
Mark and Justin are still considering what countertops to use. They had chosen a product called genesis (solid surface) until they saw the $13,000 price tag. You know, the plywood really doesn't look all that bad..... j/k

Here is the 18" breakfast bar. Looks like caulking and tools for breakfast. yum.
Tile work is fun.

Backyard fence is done.

Cutie!

Just looking around. Trying to figure this world out. We love seeing those eyes. We're having so much fun with Vince. He's doing good he's just a lazy eater once he does good with his eating then he can come home. It all up to him. He's so cute.

He's Awake!

Here are some of the pictures that we have got of Vince with his eyes open.
He loves to have his hands by his face.
This is what he looks like after changing him and taking his temperature.
Hands up again.
Before...
After.
This is what he does most of the day. He a sleepy boy.

Father's Day

We spent most of Father's Day at the hospital just spending time with Vincent. He was moved to a different corner of the NICU where there is a window to the hallway. Lance and Shyanne got to see the baby for the first time through the window.

The nurses have been so sweet to us and taken good care of our baby. Karen, one of the nurses made these shirts for all the dad's of babies in the NICU for father's day. Those are Vincent's footprints on the shirt. We were also blessed to receive a gift basket from Bank of America, a quilt from Sister Hicks, and a basket from Bob, flowers and a dishwasher from Mom and Dad Coates, and a gift we haven't opened yet from Donna Brown, and others! Thank you all!

Kandice got this board game for Justin for father's day. We are going to play it as soon as Justin is done fiddling on the computer. Bye! We love you all.

One week old!

Vincent is doing very well. He is now free from the oxygen tube, the phototherapy lights and even his iv! He is maintaining his body temperature and tolerating 50 cc's of milk every 3 hours. Now we are working towards taking all of the milk from the bottle. A large portion has to be given through the tube in his nose because he gets a little tired sucking the bottle.
Holding Vincent in your arms is a lot of fun, especially when his eyes are open or he has the wiggles. Justin calls him his little "milkshake"

Vincent easily falls asleep when he is cuddled up next to you. He makes the cutest little noises too.

It's a Boy!

Vincent LeGrand Coates was born on Saturday June 7th at 11:45 a.m. and weighed 5 lbs 12 ounces. He was 30 days early and his lungs were not fully developed. He is in the intensive care nursery where they are giving him oxygen as he needs it. He is a beautiful, healthy baby boy! The sunglasses in this picture were to protect his eyes from the phototherapy to help his jaundice.

Justin's hand holding little Vincent's foot.
Justin and Kandice are delighted about their new son. It is pure joy, that is all we can say!

Kandice enjoying time with her newborn son. You look happy Kandice!

Proudest Dad in the world.
Grandparents Coates and Turley have been so helpful with all of our needs. You guys mean the world to us!!! Thank you!

Our little angel, shortly after coming from heaven.

Mom's first time holding the baby. Kandice did great through her labor and delivery. She did not have an epidural because Vincent was on his way and there was no time. Nor did she have anything for pain after delivery. Wow, Kandice!

This is Vince during one of his feedings. He will come home from the hospital when he tolerates larger feedings, is gaining weight, and not needing oxygen. We love you Vincent and can't wait for you to come home!

Cute Baby!

Kandice is 35 weeks and had an appointment and we got to see the baby. Here are some of the fun 3D pictures.
The baby is 5 lbs. 8 oz. and head down. Everything is looking good.
The baby was poninting like "That's bothering me." Cute.
One tired baby.
The Baby was smiling while we were trying to see the baby's face in 3D. What a cutie.

Little update

The cabinets were delivered on Wednesday and they are looking mighty fine. Mark and Justin just finished a flood restoration job and may be doing another job in Mogul on a house damaged by the 4.7 earthquake we had last month.
The tall cabinet is a pantry with roll-out shelves. The fridge will go to the right of it. The hardibacker board is done and ready for tile, the closet shelves are in, the phone/tv wiring is done, and the doors are all trimmed out and painted and have door handles on them.
Justin and Kandice had a good week. After about a week of rain, the weather is getting warm again. We went to Aaron and Alex Nieznanski's eagle scout court of honor on Friday, a great achievment for them (they are twins and have autism) After that we were invited to dinner at the Lindsays house where we had good steaks and lots of fun playing with their baby Jordan (a.k.a. Smiley) This weekend was stake conference and it was good to see Grandpa Coates there. We enjoyed crepes at the Turleys house with Mark and Colleen after conference.
