Family Names

Saturday the Elder's Quorum had a temple baptism trip and spouses were invited. Justin's Aunt Dian sent 327 family names from her geneology research and we got about half of them done. Mark came and helped do baptisms and Mark E. was a witness. Colleen wanted to be there but had prior plans with her friend Pauline. There was a cool spirit there doing family names. Thanks Dian!

Little Update

Justin and Mark got the roof sheeted. The weather is cooling down. We have already had snow in the high sierra. We are looking forward to General Conference in a couple weeks, Kandice's birthday on Oct. 11th, and chukar hunting season opening on October 13th. Time to clean the shotguns!

Power to the House

Sierra Pacific Power came and installed a new transformer on the pole and hooked up the main line to our breaker box. We have power to the house now.

Grandpa's Project

Grandpa is almost done with the greenhouse conversion. All that is left is to put in some indoor/outdoor carpet.

Grandpa and Grandma aren't quite sure what the room is going to be used for yet. They are open to ideas. A pool table would fit nice in here.

Our Fishing Trip

This Saturday we spent fishing on the Sacramento River at Grimes Point. Rick Lund, Justin's Dad, Justin and Kandice boarded Rick's fishing boat and set anchor early in the morning hoping that Kandice would catch that elusive first fish.

The weather was very pleasant and we had a good time on the boat, but we went home without a bite. Below is a video clip of the boat next to us catching a nice salmon. We have determined that they "stole" Kandice's first fish somehow.

Wild Sun

This is what the sun looked like tonight as it was going down because of the fire in California. The picture didn't really pick up on the orange but we could look at it like you would the moon.

Kandice and Justin went for a quad ride from dog valley over into the backcountry of peavine mountain.

Reno Balloon Races

Justin and Kandice took Markie out to see the "boons" Unfortunately smoke from the moonlight fire near Susanville made the sky really hazy.

These balloons were evidently a crowd pleaser judging from all the people.

The bull looks like he is going to charge the other balloons and pop them.

There is a really awesome time lapse video of the reno balloon race on youtube. I'll see if I can find it and post it for you all.

Trusses Finally

Grandpa helped Justin and Mark set the first trusses today.

The first truss was a little nerve racking because of its height and weight and not having much to stand on under foot but we got it up without anyone falling on their head.
